The idea of Gateway to the Thumb Arts & Antiques Festival was conceived January 2018 by Katherine and Barry with the strict intention to bring a high-quality antique event to the Imlay City area. After months of hard work, the festival came to life just 6 months later and was a smashing success for its creators, sellers, and customers alike. An autumn festival is coordinated quickly after and an October event took place as well.
During the event's first year of growth, trial-and-error, and hard work from the so many involved, it was decided that one festival a year, held in June, would be the primary goal moving forward. The 2019 event will take place June 22 and 23 at the Eastern Michigan Fairgrounds in Imlay City, MI.
With indoor and outdoor areas available, Gateway to the Thumb Arts & Antiques Festival has been able to collect over 100 vendors at each of its 2018 events, and there's only more room to grow from there. This year, they offer several different pole barn locations, a large event tent, and several field areas to be filled with more vendors than ever!
The event is meant to be a destination location for sellers, demonstrators, and customers. Katherine and Barry search far and wide for premiere antique dealers, local artists from all across the state of Michigan, and unique artisans and merchants to impress people of all ages. Food and musical entertainment are also provided at all of the festivals. Everyone involved strives for nothing less than excellence for a hundreds upon thousands of customers that come through the Gateway to the Thumb Arts & Antiques Festival.
