We Bid Farewell To
The Gateway To The Thumb
Arts & Antiques Festival
After many hours of careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to bring our arts and antiques festival to a close. Last year’s event was deeply affected by circumstances beyond our control, particularly the weather, which undermined the extensive planning and hard work invested. A severe storm early Saturday morning, followed by oppressive heat, created challenging conditions for both vendors and attendees.
Even with every detail meticulously planned and countless hours devoted to preparation, there are factors—such as weather—that simply cannot be controlled on the one weekend an event depends upon. As a result, we have chosen to redirect our energy and resources toward other projects and look ahead with optimism to developing new endeavors.
We extend our sincere gratitude to every vendor, guest, paid entertainer, and—most importantly—our dedicated staff who supported the festival throughout its eight-year run. Many of our vendors became trusted friends, and their participation was a significant part of what made this event such a rewarding experience for us.
As you move on to other shows, there are several events we are pleased to recommend. For crafters and makers, the Michigan Lavender Festival at the Eastern Michigan Fairgrounds is an excellent opportunity. For vintage and antique dealers, we highly recommend the Michigan Antiques Festival. We have participated at both of these events and were very pleased with them. Whatever events you choose to participate in, we encourage you to give them your full commitment and to remember the men and women behind the scenes who make these shows possible.
Additionally, we would like to inform everyone that our Facebook page was removed without prior notice in order to prevent scammers who persistently attempt to profit from our festival.
